Upsher-Smith Launches Haloperidol Tablets

Maple Grove, MN – January 13, 2020 – Upsher-Smith Laboratories, LLC (Upsher-Smith, President and CEO: Rusty Field), a subsidiary of Sawai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Sawai, Head office: Osaka, Japan, President: Mitsuo Sawai) today announced the launch of Haloperidol Tablets in 0.5 mg, 1 mg, 2 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg and 20 mg strengths (the branded product: Haldol®*). The product was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Haloperidol Tablets 0.5 mg, 1 mg, 2 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg and 20 mg are prescribed for the treatment of the management of manifestations of psychotic disorders, and the control of tics and vocal utterances of Tourette’s Disorder in children and adults. The haloperidol tablet market had U.S. sales of approximately $41 million for the 12 months ending August 2019 according to IQVIA.

*Haldol is a registered trademark of Johnson & Johnson Corp; Haldol Tablets have been discontinued.
